Best period:

Spring-summer season

May 15 - June 30
A period when roe deer are actively moving, males are passing through territories, and the efficiency is high. An ideal time for accurate shots at a distance of 80–180 m.

Rut period:

July 25 - August 20
The best hunting period! Males are active, react to decoys, often go out into open areas. This is the time of trophy males with massive and large horns.

Trophy indicators in Ukraine

Ukrainian roe deer trophies deserve attention due to: thick antler bases, heavy mass, good symmetry, strong genetic pool.

Average trophy quality:

300–400 g — standard good trophy
400–500 g — very strong males, often during rut
500+ g — rare trophies, but in Ukraine they are taken every
season. The largest trophies taken in Ukraine are 750 g.

This makes Ukraine one of the most attractive countries in Europe for roe deer hunting.
